Xtracycle U-Tubes (2021) - Black

An incredibly useful product, Xtracycle U-Tubes function both as lower supports for heavy, dense cargo and as foot rests for passengers. Crafted from durable aluminum, they are highly weather resistant and strong enough to take the abuse of buckets of paint, kicky feet, and your biggest grocery runs. The twin tubes are supportive while allowing debris, water, and mud to fall through.

Bike Compatibility: This version of the U-Tubes can be used with almost any Xtracycle bike, whether it requires spring pins or M5 bolts to attach. Not sure what model bike you have? If the hole in the frame where the bolt or pin would secure the U-Tubes in place has no threads for a bolt and is just a regular hole, the spring pins are needed. If it has threads for a bolt, a bolt is needed. This version of the U-Tubes includes both spring pins and M5 bolts and washers. See below for which bike models use which mounting hardware style:

Compatible bikes when using the spring pins:
2021 electric EdgeRunners, LT1 EdgeRunners, Radish, CargoJoe and FreeRadicals. (Also the Surly Big Dummy because it has the same configuration as the FreeRadical, although Xtracycle's official stance is that these are not compatible with any non-Xtracycle bike.) These U-Tubes come with the spring pins pre-installed, and no modification is required for this group.

Compatible bikes when removing the spring pins and using the provided M5 bolts:
For the Swoop (non-electric), 2018 eSwoop/eClassic/eStoker, CargoNode, and all EdgeRunners equipped with the LT2 deck and LT2 v-racks. (The FreeRadical Leap conversion kit is also in this group, but you will also need to shorten the rearmost insertion end of the U-Tubes with a hacksaw.) For this group, you will need to use a tool such as a flat screwdriver to help fish the spring pins out of the ends of the U-Tubes, then use the provided M5 bolts and washers for installation.
