The Rear Frame Clip locks the rear folding mechanism—useful when carrying luggage or when folding would be inconvenient. As fast folders know, twisting the suspension bung around deactivates the mechanism and allows the rear frame to pivot freely, allowing the bike to be parked without needing to manually release the clip itself.
If your Brompton is a few years old, you may need to add the seat post quick release clamp (QR) to the rear frame clip.
