Abolish I.C.E. Screenprinting Event with Brianna Part Deux

The Perennial community, in collaboration with artist Brieanna, is hosting a second screen printing event in support of abolishing ICE.

Every day we are witnessing more tragedies take place in our city. We’ve watched children and families be hauled away by the secret police; we have seen Minneapolitans killed in the street brandishing only their cellphones. The ripple effects of the violence ICE has brought to our communities are immeasurable. At Perennial, we keep going mostly because we still have each other, and we are seeing the network of support growing exponentially as each week passes. Neighbors are showing up for neighbors more than ever before.

So let’s get together on Sunday, February 8. We’ll screen print, fundraise, and spend time in community. There will be treats from area bakeries and beverages supplied by Perennial Cycle.

SCREEN PRINTING:

Brieanna has a super fun design that is sure to bring a smile to many faces while spreading a critical message - ICE needs to get out. Not just out of Minneapolis, but everywhere. We’ll be live screen printing at this event, so bring anything that you'd like this design on. In lieu of payment, we encourage you to donate to MIRAC. We also will have some pre-printed T's and totes available for sale for $20 (profits go to MIRAC).

TUNES:

Sing-a-long with local musicians to old-school protest songs and more.

ART TABLE AND PLAY AREA:

An art table will feature activities for all ages and our play area for toddlers and young children will be open and available.

FOOD DRIVE:

We will be accepting food donations for the Joyce Food Shelf. Joyce Food Shelf has been taking care of people in need for many years.

CASH DONATIONS:

All money raised will be given to MIRAC. MIRAC (Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee) is 100% volunteer run and doing amazing work.

ICE WATCH CURIOUS?:

There will be people from the neighborhood talking about their involvement in protecting our neighborhoods. This is a great way to hear about other people’s experiences and determine whether you might want to join a rapid response team.
