We build a lot of dynamo wheels at Perennial and we love them all. While the Schmidt hubs are the high bar regarding durability and low rolling resistance, the Shimano Alfine dynamo hubs (UR705 & S501)  are extremely reliable, durable, with respectable resistance levels AND they leave you with some extra cash in your pocket.
The Shimano UR705 Dynamo Hub is a great balance between weight, efficiency and price.
All these wheels are for bikes with a 12x100mm thru-axle fork.

The Shimano 12x100 Dynamo Wheels pair the Shimano UR705 (same hub as the UR700. This is the 12x100 thru-axle model) hub with a 650b or 700c  rims (choose below), which are very versatile for commuting, gravel riding & randonneuring.
The Rhyno Lite rim can be used with rim brakes (has a machined sidewall) while the Velocity Aileron and Velocity Cliffhanger are disc specific rims.
